The Olympia Learning Center is a childcare facility in Olympia, Washington, that caters to children from 1 month to 6 years. The school provides an interdisciplinary curriculum of English, computer applications, history, social studies, economics, and math; graphic arts classes; health care education sessions and industrial and technical education classes are also held here; and guidance and counseling sessions for its students.
At Achieve Academy, their reading curriculum is guided by Washington state standards that focus on reading for comprehension. This goal is met through direct instruction, modeling of reading strategies, and independent reading by each student. Students learn to navigate a range of literary and non-literary genres by employing different methods depending on each type of text they encounter.
Richland County School District One’s Elementary Campus currently enrolls 69 students from grades six through twelve and seven projects funded on DonorsChoose, an online platform that allows people to support classroom requests from teachers. DonorsChoose was created and run by teachers as a teacher-run nonprofit organization dedicated to closing resource gaps between schools that serve predominantly minority and lower-income students and those that serve primarily white pupils.
Academic Coaching
Students involved in this highly engaging modality form an ongoing relationship with a coach who provides structure and support in setting, managing, and reaching their goals. Their coach pays special attention to academic progress, learning styles and strategies to overcome challenges, and persistent effort toward goal attainment – ultimately encouraging perseverance and achievement.
The coaching program recognizes learning as an ongoing journey and believes all students can grow and progress regardless of perceived abilities. Our coaching team collaborates closely with teachers in 1:1 and small group settings as co-learners, reflective partners, and consulting partners while honoring teacher-driven interests and goal-setting processes.
A coach provides their student with guidance in reaching their learning goals and supports them as they achieve or surpass them. A coach encourages and cheers his or her students as they work toward meeting those learning objectives, helping them access mental energy for forward progress while celebrating when their goals have been reached or exceeded.

Test Preparation
Olympia Learning Center provides alternative education programs for grades four through twelve. Offering instruction in English, computer applications, history/social studies/math/science, industrial/technical education, and career/personal development sessions, the school also operates a library media center with access to various learning materials/resources.
Olympia students in grades 3-8 use our comprehensive assessment program to monitor student progress in each step. It offers valuable feedback to them, their parents/legal guardians, and educators throughout the year regarding performance. Olympia students in these grades take the Smarter Balanced tests in English language arts and mathematics and participate in WCAS (Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science) tests every spring.
Olympia Learning Center, part of Richland One and serving students assigned by their District’s Juvenile Justice system for Level 3 violations under the Student Code of Conduct, is accredited by the National Dropout Prevention Center Network and was honored with the 2010 Crystal Star Award of Excellence. Staff at Olympia Learning Center help these young adults develop life plans with the tools they require for success.
Summer Camp
At camp during the summer break, kids can participate in various fun and educational activities ranging from sports to science – something for every interest! In addition to these enjoyable summer activities, educational programs such as screenwriting or brain cell analysis may also be provided by staff to ensure children remain focused during this period of their studies.
The school also provides an online program specifically for high school students, which helps ensure they don’t fall behind during summer break and still receive credit for the next semester.
Summer youth programs are accessible to students nationwide and aim to engage curious children and adolescents by offering flexible scheduling options and stimulating programs in subjects like screenwriting and neuroscience.
